12″ x 12″ Photograph $150
When I was hanging out with some friends shooting photos in Tacoma near the Museum of Glass I saw the clouds above the museum and thought they resembled smoke puffing out of the museum’s glass cone. The design for this structure was inspired by the wood-burning sawmills that used to be around the area, and I thought it was fitting to capture this scene. The angular roof of the building next to the cone made for an interesting design element, and reminded me of a sort of damper that slides open to let the “smoke” float out from inside the building. I used one of the “Noir” filters in Snapseed to process the image, since the shapes and textures in this image were far more important to me than the color.
